Tomatoes – Sweat and Neat

Something for the gardeners that have less space available and my recommendation for someone seeking to grow tomatoes in containers on the stoep or balcony! Sweet and Neat is a semi-micro variety that has a bushy and compact growth habit and will only reach about 30cm in total height. They produce clusters of bright red cherry-sized fruit around the same window. They need little care and are a great option for someone that wants to start growing food but doesn’t have the space, expertise, or time to be there every minute of the day. I was rather impressed by the sweetness of these, didn’t expect it to be that good and the fruit kept fresh for long periods on the plants. I grew mine in 30cm pots with 4-5 seedlings per pot and didn’t interfere much only when I watered and harvested. Small plants ideal for smaller spaces that produce delicious red cherry-type fruit, little care needed, big harvests for your initial input.
