Jewels! Very attractive red flat seeds with dark purple markings. Plants are prolific producers of pods and seeds. Once the plant’s seed has become mature enough the drying period progresses fairly rapidly. This variety has been around in America possibly for several hundred years but is rather scarce and I haven’t seen them around in SA yet. The plants in their first year have already proved that it produces more beans than some of the other varieties, so I know there will be a magnitude of the beans going forward. The first dry pods were harvested around 110 days, which is a fair time for Lima beans. A very limited amount of seeds will be made available this season.
