The Washed Coco Block (5kg) is a high-quality, environmentally friendly growing medium made from natural coconut husk fibres. It is suitable for a wide range of gardening, agricultural, and hydroponic applications, offering excellent moisture retention and root aeration. This coco peat is washed but not buffered, and must be buffered before use to ensure optimal nutrient availability and plant health.

A single compressed 5kg block expands to approximately 60–70 litres when fully hydrated, making it a cost-effective and space-saving solution for growers.

Important Note – Buffering Required

This coco peat is not pre-buffered. Unbuffered coco can bind calcium and magnesium, potentially causing nutrient deficiencies.
Buffering with a calcium- and magnesium-rich solution is strongly recommended before planting.

How It Works

Washed coco peat holds moisture efficiently while still allowing excess water to drain freely. This balance creates an ideal root environment, promoting oxygen availability and preventing waterlogging. Once properly buffered, it provides a stable and effective medium for nutrient uptake.

Preparation & Usage Instructions

1. Place the compressed coco block in a large container or tray.

2. Add clean water and allow it to fully expand (approximately 60–70 litres).

3. Break up the expanded coco peat evenly.

4. Buffer before use by soaking in a calcium- and magnesium-rich nutrient solution.

5. Drain excess solution and the coco peat is ready for planting.

Once buffered, fill pots, beds, or growing trays and plant directly. Coco peat can also be mixed with other media to create a custom growing blend tailored to your plants’ needs.
