Chillies – Mayhem Chilli

This little charmer is known as “Mayhem”, but not the mayhem as we know it. More like a good and productive type of mayhem. 

This is a bird’s eye type chilli, which originates from Australia. The plants have a very neat and upright growth habit with all of the pods facing upwards. 

They start of green,purple and end up a bright red. 

The photo might be misleading as the pods are max 2cm long. Short little daggers that in my opion have a hard to gauge,but prominent heat. The bonus here is that you can add 1,2,3 or a handful according to your spiciness needs. Other chillies can be tricky as 1 cracker can spoil the broth or you add a few and dont feel anything. With these you can add as required. 

Cut them in half so you dont bite and shallow the whole thing. They’re also very oily inside,the latter always pointing to a good one in my own experience. 

Summarized, Knee high very well structured plants. Ideal for pots or directly into the soil. Good heat and flavour. You can manage the quantity you need. Very aesthetically pleasing pods. Productive over a long window.
